Hydrant Meter

To begin the application process to utilize a fire hydrant for construction purposes, read and submit the agreement below.

For hydrant meters, a deposit of $850.00 by check only, payable to the Kinneloa Irrigation District is required. You may mail the check deposit to 1999 Kinclair Dr, Pasadena CA 91107 or visit us in the office.

HYDRANT METER AGREEMENT

HYDRANT METER USE & REQUIREMENTS

DEPOSIT & CHARGES : An $850 deposit is required before meter installation. A minimum charge of $100 applies. District labor and water usage at the current District rate will be charged. An invoice will be issued when meter use is discontinued or monthly for extended use.

INSTALLATION & METER RESPONSIBILITY : The meter installation location must be approved by the Senior Facilities Operator or General Manager. The applicant is responsible for the meter once it is installed and secured to the hydrant. Lost or stolen meters will result in forfeiture of the deposit, and an additional deposit will be required for a replacement. Repair or replacement costs for damaged meters or missing parts will be deducted from the deposit.

HYDRANT & HOSE USE : A proper hydrant wrench must be used to operate the hydrant valve. When a hose crosses a street or driveway, it must be adequately protected from vehicle traffic to prevent damage, surges, or water hammer to the District's distribution system.

WATER TRUCKS & DROP TANKS : Water trucks must be filled from the top using an air gap or approved backflow prevention device. Drop tanks must have an air gap or float valve assembly to prevent cross-connection or backflow. The District reserves the right to inspect water trucks and drop tanks for compliance.

METER READINGS & DISTRICT REQUIREMENTS : Meters will be read upon installation and removal, or monthly for extended use. Hydrant meter use is subject to all applicable District rules and regulations.
